Life on the Edge

#SOSNicaragua: Walking with a Purpose, Part 2 | Podcast

In recent days, the brave men and women of Nicaragua have stood in defiance of tyranny. They have taken to the streets in peaceful protest. And they have been met in return by brutal violence.

In this special edition of The Edge of Adventure podcast, Adam Asher shares his second conversation with Jorge Alvarado, CEO and Co-Founder at Walking with a Purpose. Jorge gives us an update on a situation that has grown consistently worse. And Adam shares several soundbites sent to him from his listeners in Nicaragua.

Thank you for taking the time to listen—and to share—this broadcast. This one is extremely important. | #TheEdgeOfAdventure #BeyondStatusQuo #SOSNicaragua.

  • I appreciate and support what you are doing to bring awareness to the trouble that Nicaragua is going through. Although I was born in the states, I still consider Nicaragua home. I always refer to it as home. My mom left Nicaragua while my father served his two year term as required by the government at the time. It has been a while since I have visited and last time I was there, I did not want to leave. You are right, the country is beautiful and the people are wonderful. I will do my best to help you all to bring awareness and hopefully bring a peaceful resolution to this. Salud🍻!

Thank you, Robert. Nicaragua is a beautiful country with beautiful people. I have so many friends there. So I take it all very personally. I’ve been to Managua, Masaya, Leon, Granada, Diriamba, Chinandega and beyond. The thought of these atrocities happening to these great people … it saddens and angers. But I firmly believe that Nicaragua will win her freedom. The Nicaraguan people are a determined people.

Thank you for these great podcasts. You are giving a voice to people to express their fears and hopes. We are trusting the Lord. We are trying to stay faithful in the face of adversity and aggression. The government is not pulling any punches. They are using every overt and secret weapon they have against the people of Nicaragua. However, I am constantly reminded by our Lord Jesus that

“…our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

There is plenty of the “spiritual forces of evil” to go around in the Ortega-Murillo regime. We’re praying for the Lord to make way for HIS light and HIS truth to shine upon this dark chapter of history.
